Thanks to everyone who has followed or contributed to this wiki! Since we're very gradually nearing Book 6's release date, I want to ask everyone: What do you really want to see in Book 6? Can be sequence, character, or general plot ideas.

Please keep in mind, I have no connection to the production of the series whatsoever.

Definitely agreed. When Emily enters the Void, she should be able to see her father. If this happens at some point, this will serve as a great opportunity for her character... and to serve as a really heartfelt moment in the story. Trellis was able to see Virgil, so why not?

In The Cloud Searchers, it was already hinted that Earth would play a bigger role. After all, the Voice told Emily that Alledia is not the only world in trouble. I would really love to see a conflict of some sort between Earth and Alledia.

    • I'm thinking maybe the Voice (somehow) manages to take control of Emily, and in the process Max nearly dies. Then Max gets some sort of flashback/reflection and then sacrifices himself to save Emily? I don't quite know...

I think Max can reach some sort of redemption. He isn't truly evil. He is motivated by Layra's death, which implies that he still has some emotional depth.

    • i'd like dagno to call other wyverns to fight the elves! And at the end, the elf king himself regains control of the stone and saves the world. emily could enter the void and talk to her father but the "voice" (the stone) starts to change her memories and i don't really know what comes next ,maybe the stone takes control of emily? and max saves her? there's to many options!

      what about the chess game?

    • what if the stone (voice) destroys Earth and Alledia and after that, they manage to go back in time and destroy the mother stone from ever existing?

those are just ideas but it would be awesome to see tha in a book!

Definitely wondering that, too. As I said in my recent blog update, the braids seem to indicate a female elf (which I've totally been wanting in this series), and the sinister look this individual has also indicate this might be a villain. Maybe this character will play a major role when the gang travel to Lucien? I don't know, but this next book definitely looks to be the most interesting so far.

I'm not 100% sure about the physical differences between male and female elves in Amulet but I think it's a female. Maybe from a different region or kingdom.

The two female elves we have seen so far (Layra and, if I recall correctly, her mother) have been shown with their hair tied, but the males – for the most part (I think Layra's father had these little knots) – have had their hair untied and flowing.

The braids indicate a possible female, but the coils in this elf's hair especially seem to be the selling point in giving an even more effeminate appearance. Also, the males tend to have more chiseled features, but this elf seems to have a smoother and rounder face.

It's not. Kazu has already announced that he will be working on Book 7 immediately after finishing 6. And in an interview, I do recall him saying he expects the series to reach 8-10 volumes. Wish I could find the source, but it makes sense. After all, Jeff Smith's Bone comprised of 9 volumes for Scholastic.

Kazu also stated once that the series will have an ending and won't just keep going, unlike some certain Shonen Jump manga. It does make you wonder, though, what he'll do after Amulet: start a new series, continue with Daisy Kutter, more Copper?

      - elf king isn't dead and he helps them destroy the stone

      - they go back in time and destroy the mother stone frome ever existing

      - they go to the future and see what happens then they come back to the present and you know the rest

      - I don't know why, but i aways think that David (Emily's dad) didn't die.for some reason i think that he fell into alledia and stayed alive and that they will find him later in the story. He might have fallen into some kind of portal and went to alledia and now he's trapped in some elf  prison...

      -  emily dies an leaves a lot of readers disappointed

    • Not too sure if it would be the Voice's illusion of Layra, since it was said she died and she was a little girl at the time of her and her parents death from the explosion.

I'm open to the possibility to the idea that she may have somehow survived the explosion, but not too sure what to truly think of yet since the only thing we know about book 6 is that it'll be the longest so far in the series with tons of action.

Also, I'd support the Emily/Trellis pairing only if Emily was older. Not sure how old Trellis is or how equvilant an elf's age would be to a human and Emily is still only twelve, still too young in my opinion to start any sort of romance just yet.

        Loading editor
    • Well, what I mean is, is that she was a child at the time, so if it's an older version of Layra that the Voice is trying to create, I doubt Max would be fooled by it.

We'll have to wait and see what Kibuishi has come up with in this book, it certainly looks epic

that dark entity is the voice (stone)

i think so either, but i'd like the elf king to be alive and get angry with the stone for controlling him, and then he'd help the resistance destroy it

Appearing in the first few books, in my opinion he was the coolest character, that added alot of awesome action, and was a such a cool mentor towards Emily in the books. He has since dwindled dramatically into the background in the more recent books. The old man and Trellis have become more dominant characters, which is alright but I find Trellis to be continuously gloomy in a way. Anyways I am looking forward to the plot to continue but i would also like the book to tye off loose ends such as the Ancient curse on the City of Kanalis. If Leon were to be removed of the curse of which he was born with, I think that would be a cool side story.. Anyways no one commented on Leon so I just thought to he was worth mentioning ;p

Starting off as a AWESOME character he simply has dwindled into the background in recent books. If he were to comeback with an enhanced blade (that could actually do damage as in book.3 it is seen to be useless) I think he could bring some action. In my opinion this also could lead to tying loose ends such as the Ancient Curse on Kamalis. Anyways Leon was my favourite character, sad to see him become a unimportant charcter..

True, but I think most people would find it "taboo" at her stage. Sure, there are always relationships with some years apart (even 20), but Emily hasn't even reached an adult age, let alone her teens. I think she could get with Trellis if she were, say, 16 or 17 herself, and biologically mature enough to make such a decision.

      That's just my opinion, though.

    • Yeah, but do we even know how old Trellis really is or how aging works for the elves? After all, they aren't human, so chances are that they have longer life spans and reach certain stages of their life at a certain point.

There's no guarantee that he's really sixteen, but it is suggested he's still in his adolescence

Definitely at least three years ahead of her.

    • What if the Emily's grandfather comes back and maybe was helplessly being controlled by the elf. Or not. And maybe Emily finds Max and they find a stone, a tiny stone that's glowing. And the elf girl that died in the beginning is the actual...wait 4 it...voice. She destroys the elf king and kills Emily. But Emily doesn't die-instead she views an image of the past. It turns out the father was playing an important role, he was going to go somewhere the next day to do something imporatnt, but someone kills him and makes his death as realistic as possible. Then Emily wakes up and finds her necklace...stolen.

Just som thoughts thrown in here and there, and about the Tremily- NO THX! If she even becomes friends with anybody, its gotta be Max. But T is kinda old...

Not too sure if it would be the Voice's illusion of Layra, since it was said she died and she was a little girl at the time of her and her parents death from the explosion.

Not sure how old Trellis is or how equvilant an elf's age would be to a human and Emily is still only twelve, still too young in my opinion to start any sort of romance just yet.

about layra, it could be a dead body animated by the voice, just like (maybe) the elf king    that can explain the anger in the face of the elf, too

about tremily TOTALY AGREED!  i don't know why does everybody want it it just look'ss wrong to me!

Well, what I mean is, is that she was a child at the time, so if it's an older version of Layra that the Voice is trying to create, I doubt Max would be fooled by it.

We'll have to wait and see what Kibuishi has come up with in this book, it certainly looks epic LOLOLOL

Definitely agreed. When Emily enters the Void, she should be able to see her father. If this happens at some point, this will serve as a great opportunity for her character... and to serve as a really heartfelt moment in the story. Trellis was able to see Virgil, so why not?In The Cloud Searchers, it was already hinted that Earth would play a bigger role. After all, the Voice told Emily that Alledia is not the only world in trouble. I would really love to see a conflict of some sort between Earth and Alledia.
I agree, but i don't want the final battle in book six. only if it's not the end of amulet!

I still don't like the fact that it will end, but i agree that sometime, people will get tired of amulet (not my case) but i want that after the (epic) end (if it realy happens), he starts another awesome series!! KAZU, IF YOU'RE READING THIS, DON'T STOP WRITING AMULET!!!!!

      Late reply:

Daisy Kutter is a graphic novel first published by Kazu Kibuishi in 2004 that comprised four issues, and was later released as a single book in 2005. It's a bit edgier than what has been seen in Amulet.

      Here's a summary from Goodreads:

Daisy Kutter's bandit days are behind her. She and partner Tom have gone legit, and now she is a respectable small-town citizen, owner of the local general store--and bored out of her mind. Frustration with the tedium of normal life and her own discontents gets her into trouble after she loses the store in a poker game. Mr. Winters, the security mogul who won it, offers a proposition she can't refuse: to test the new security robots on his train. He is willing to pay. In a fit of recklessness, Daisy takes the job.

Copies of the book, however, are actually quite a bit rare, which is why Kazu launched a Kickstarter publication for the book in 2012.

    • I'm really hoping that Max can see that he's been had by the Voice or at least begins to question his own motives. I don't always like to see all the characters in a certain series as the true villian. While many of their actions are cruel and questionable, the protagonist's aren't exactly saints.

In short, while they don't have an excuse for whatever they have done, it does explain it in a way that may be understandable for most people. I also hope they do more explaining of Silas' role in Alledia along with his creations, can't forget that Silas crafted them for one purpose for something, curious to how and when he decided to make them.

    • hey there

      Please read the whole post

Remember one old post of mine where i wrote that David (Em's dad) could be alive?

Well, he maybe is! i was reading the other books again and i saw something i didn't see before. if you have your books with you, look in book five: prince of the elves in page 81, just after 'nick fury' says to navin to find an open seat, navin seats and looks to the right (his right) and who's there?! i've compared to the first book and it must be him! David was there all of the time  noone noticed!

They said that you can access memories in the void and communicate with people there.emily knows how to enter it, so why doesn't she enter it and talk to david to be careful and that there would be a car parked o their way? she could have changed everything. (this can be a reason for not doing it,time travel can mess with everything)

And what about young trellis? he appeared in the void (in trellis's memories) in book five. only a memory right? so how was he in the garden in book four?

please answer and thank you for reading

      1. escapefromlucien

Ps.: for doctor who fans (if there is any) look in book four: the last council at page 131 when emily falls into the water there's a silent down there! i don't know realy what it  is but if it is realy a silent, it explains why emily didnt speak about it with anyone. she actually forgot! Silence will fall...

Maybe they are beginning to accept the fact of being siblings, but are they awkward about it, still thinking how much memories they lost, or are they letting wounds heal to form a bond? So many questions and only about two months till the book is released. Must survive.... =A=

ok,so they are brothers but they somehow forgot this.

1- who or what did this to them and how?

2- WHY? why does it matter if they know that or not? how does it benefit to anyone if they don't know that? there must be some logic behind this and i want those answers in the next book or later...

it just came to my mind that maybe SILAS is alive. he could be playing everyone and in the end, come and save the day. but i can be wrong, and i probably am but it would be nice to see him in action again. he said that he left all of his toughts and memories in miskit's databanks, so it is possible that he comes back in another way...

weird idea: what if they never left norlen?(if you dont remember, read again the first book) they could be still in that house.

in my last post i said that david is alive and other stuff (its up there but it says "a wikia contributor") he can be alive, and i really want him to, but the guy in book 5 page 81 could be anyone or just an easter egg...

Screen Shot 2014-03-10 at 7.44.39 PM
that female elf in the cover of book six could be layra...what if she didnt die in that airship and comes back now to make max hear the voice of reason?

everyone keeps saying that they want trellis(NOPE) or even leomily(it could be a possibily after the curse is broken, but i think he is too old. how old is him? anyway i don't want the curse to be broken, i like him being a fox guy... so, NO)

i like more NAVIN AND ALLY. it can happen and i think it will.

here are some questions for you:

      1. what about the chess game?it's clearly something important, but how does it influence in the rest of the story?

      2. what about young trellis? how was him in that garden in cielis? was it really him?

3.what about david? is him alive?

4.what about max? is he going to be good in the end or not? could layra be involved?

      5. what about the king? is he dead and possessed by the stone, or hes just trully evil?

6.who is your favourite character? mine is dagno, and i would like him to call other wyverns to help them fight the elfs

there are soooo many other questions, but ill leave them to another post. this one is already too big. please tell me what you think about those things and please tell your own ideas.

can't wait to read book six:escape from lucien! why is it taking sooo long???

if i was em or navin, after everything is over, i would move to alledia and live there! so much better than earth...

      quack

    • Um. okay? Well first of all, your adding way to many 'him' rather than 'he', while I do support any pairing, I think we already have another post for that(I think).

Anyway, I think that the chess board acts as a symbol for how the Voice sees this war and conflict - a strategy game where it toys with the 'pawns' of it's sadistic game. Though there may be more to be revealed about the Voice and the chess game.

I think Trellis thought he saw a younger version of himself in the gardens for multiple reasons; one being that he's starting to remember his past a bit more and his child self may act as a ghost haunting him because of whatever happened years ago.

I'm pretty sure David(the father) really did die in the first book. Perhaps the person that looked like him on the airship was just another person that looked kinda like him.

Maybe Max will turn around in the end, as I watched a Scholastic Online Preview trailer on graphic novels(book six was included). It said it will probably be mainly focusing on Navin and give a closure to Max's story, and that could mean anything.

I truly believe that the Elf King is indeed what Trellis said in book 3 - a corpse that is being used as a puppet by an unknown entity(most likely the Voice).

And as for characters, well I find it hard not to like any of the cast in this graphic novel series, whether their role is big or small and despite their faults, are indeed full of potential.

While all our views may vary, I do my best to try and see the world in gray rather than black and white, as everything has a reason and I'd like to understand it in anyway I can.

There were many more questions I have for the next book I had, but most either got answered, seemed redundent, or would possibly cause some silly argument. I really can't wait to see what future Kibuishi has in store for his readers.

    • Almost forgot to add this -

While I do think that the Elf King, Silas, and Emily and Navin's father is dead for good, there might be a chance for Emily, Trellis, and Vigo to interact with them via the void.

As for Layra, I have thought about that her being alive is a possibility. Prehaps at the last second, her parents pushed her off the airship to avoid getting blasted like they and the ship crew did. If there is a slim possibility, it may in fact be true in some way

        Loading editor
    • hey there

i really like your answers and i agree with most of it

first, i apologise for the 'he' and 'him' thing and for the bad english...sorry, its not my main language, im doing my best.

about the chess game i agree with you, but besides being a symbol, it can be like how the voice is controlling everyone. if  the voice is playing max and the elf king, it has contol over the elves and can start a war. so i think the chess game is the war between emily and the voice, who wants to control everything.

i agree with you about young trellis, he can be a gohst haunting the older trellis. this could explain why noone else saw the kid.

the only reason that i think theres a slim possibility for david to be alive, is that we didnt see what happened after the car fell. he is dead and i know it, but i dont see why he cant be back in any other way, like the void.

i think max will turn around in the end, but before, the stone will betray him. when hes not useful to the stone anymore, it will try to get rid of him and that will make him change his mind. (remember, its just a possibility)

ok so i think that silas, david and the king are dead, but it doesnt mean that theyre gone forever. silas can be back as miskit, who has his toughts and memories in his databanks. and the others can be contacted by emily, vigo and trellis the the void.

the events of book five showed us that emily can enter the void and go to the past so why doesnt she go to the night hes dad died and stop it from ever happening?

i also think that layra could have jumped from trhe airship in the last second, or it could be her mom, whon came back to avenge the death of her daughter. or it could be some dead female elf (possibly layra) who is possessed by the stone like the elf king.

i have so much other things to say, but now i dont have time to write. ill leave it for a future post

Also, when you enter the void, a stonekeeper interacts with the past through their memories, so they can't really change anything. However, maybe they can gain wisdom from looking at it closer and interacting with their loved ones, as some may seem to be aware of who they are.

I too shall try and wait for another post to share the rest of my own thoughts and theories

    • I think you are right about the void. They can only interact with their memories. But of that is so, how could trellis get to that place with uncle virgil, if he lost his memories? I still dont get why trellis and luger lost their memories. What matters if they know theyre brothers or not? I think theres a thin line between the void and reality. When trellis wakes up from the void in book five, you can see the marks from the bandages that uncle virgil put on his arm IN the void.(look at book five page 155 last square) if thats correct, the voice/stone/dark entity might be trying to escape for the real world. And if that happens...

Ps.when book six is out, will we create a new page like 'what do you think of book 6' or what fo you want to see on book7'? I just want to know so that i start posting my ideas there.

      - the stone comes to earth and destroys it

      - final battle with the stone and not with the elf king

      - elf king is really dead and wen his stone is destroyed he's just a dead body

      - elf king isn't dead and he helps them destroy the stone

      - they go back in time and destroy the mother stone frome ever existing

      - they go to the future and see what happens then they come back to the present and you know the rest

      - I don't know why, but i aways think that David (Emily's dad) didn't die.for some reason i think that he fell into alledia and stayed alive and that they will find him later in the story. He might have fallen into some kind of portal and went to alledia and now he's trapped in some elf  prison...

      -  emily dies an leaves a lot of readers disappointed

And that ideas are like less than 0,00000000000000000(a bazillion zeroes)0000001 of all my thougths and ideas about amulet. I know there are some contradictory ideas but i didn't say that all of them have to happen.

If Trellis and Emily really did have a romantic relationship, then it'll become more and more like J R R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings :) :) :)

According to the LOTR trilogy, elves get mature at a human's age fifty. How's that :)?

Trellis should be waaaay older than Emily, with Trellis alreay grownup. Elves hardly shows any signs of age on account of they're immortal(can live on forever), unless destroyed physically.

Maybe the mysterious figure in the background of the sixth book can be either another elf from another place in the elf nation, or it may'll be a relative of Trellis and Luger???

Maybe Navin's father really didn't die like inside the prologue of the first book, or maybe it was just a cameo appearance. It is just like Trellis seeing his younger self inside the Grden of Keepers, before being lectured by Emily.

It seemed that Emily saw something(a humanoid figure) when she fell into the water at the Guardian Academy, only no one knew whatever it was: a drowned stone-keeper? That can't be possible.

Trellis was able to see Virgil, so why not?In The Cloud Searchers, it was already hinted that Earth would play a bigger role. I would really love to see a conflict of some sort between Earth and Alledia.I agree, but i don't want the final battle in book six. only if it's not the end of amulet! It's not. Wish I could find the source, but it makes sense. After all, Jeff Smith's Bone comprised of 9 volumes for Scholastic. Kazu also stated once that the series will have an ending and won't just keep going, unlike some certain Shonen Jump manga. It does make you wonder, though, what he'll do after Amulet: start a new series, continue with Daisy Kutter, more Copper?I still don't like the fact that it will end, but i agree that sometime, people will get tired of amulet (not my case) but i want that after the (epic) end (if it realy happens), he starts another awesome series!! KAZU, IF YOU'RE READING THIS, DON'T STOP WRITING AMULET!!!!! (yeah i sound a bit obsessed) ps.: what's Daisy Cutter??Late reply: Daisy Kutter is a graphic novel first published by Kazu Kibuishi in 2004 that comprised four issues, and was later released as a single book in 2005. It's a bit edgier than what has been seen in Amulet. Here's a summary from Goodreads: Daisy Kutter's bandit days are behind her. This is a preview from a short story for the series in the Flight anthology: http://www.flightcomics.com/flight6preview/preview/kazukibuishi/index.html

Oh, yes. Will Kazu start another series after his Amulet series? And will it ever become a film?

I think Max can reach some sort of redemption. He isn't truly evil. He is motivated by Layra's death, which implies that he still has some emotional depth.

Max wanted to work for the elves because he was devastated about Layra's death. Maybe Max will agree to serve on the Guardian Council if Layra never died.

Whatever Emily saw under the water may be a part of the test she was having, or something else.

For that person Navin saw when the pilot told him to move along the aircraft, he may be a look-alike.

Maybe the king is really under the influence of his own stone; and since Layra already died in the previous novel, she could appear again when Max and Emily travel through the void, with Max telling her his secrets.

About the female elf on the cover of the sixth book, she may can, or will be, someone Emily and her friends meet in Lucien or a character in a journey through either the void or flashback.

The elf may'll be a new character that's going to appear in the sixth book. Kazu kept the character unknown to the audiences, allowing them to have plenty of guesses until the character's name is revealed.

Live-action would be decent given the proper actors and budget, but I strongly believe that animation will do the series the most justice. Kazu's stated already that an animated film is in the works and that some animatics have been completed, but the status of its release is yet unknown as no further news has been released.

I would especially love Korean animators to handle this kind of project, as they are very abundant and know how to develop animations well. Sadly, they aren't given too much credit in the industry, but they do a lot (if not most) of the work on many American animated programs.

There was a live-action film planned which was to star Jaden and Willow Smith, but due to Jaden's commitment to After Earth, it appears he's opted out. This is a good thing for me because I honestly think it was a horrible casting decision to begin with. At the risk of sounding racist, why cast black children to play characters that are clearly white in complexion? Filmmakers made the same mistake when they casted white people to play the characters in The Last Airbender.

Eh, I'm rambling on again. Forgive me.

    • i just realised that they were headed to lucien to stop max's next attack and got attacked  in the air as you can see in the end of book five.  so when they fell into nowhere they were already in lucien. i just dont understand why theyll take a whole book to get out of there.

when they escape, i would want them to go to gulfen and stop the king (obviously after defeating max's 'little' monster. And in book seven)

i guess that in the end max will eventualy turn against the stone but that would brake the spell and he would be old again. (maybe like darth vader in the end of the last star wars, but without dying)

im mad that i need to wait another whole month to get the book. GAAAHAHHAAAAHHHH

Sorry, people, but we are tawking about the graphic novels here. Anyway, I started the film thing. I never expected the change in actors and actresses either. I think, if Amulet will become a movie, it'll be great, only it will be better if it's computer animated. Real acting will be too complicated, with too many computer effects.

It's already August the first, so it's better to start the countdown for the new book now. Also, if Amulet does become a film, then I hope there'll also be a novel series.
